Hello and warm welcome to all our readers World Cup is coming in the way and most of the teams are playing their last series before the mega event to determine their strengths and weaknesses. India vs. Australia series is also one of them where both sides are up against each other just before the mega event to determine the performance of their selected players. Both of the teams have rested their key players and tested their bench strength. Let's review their 1st ODI of the series between India and Australia.
India won the toss and opted to field 1st in Mohali. Most of their key players were rested for the 1st 2 games so there were pretty new faces in the playing IX.

Start from Australia
Australia lost Mitchell Marsh in the 1st over against Mohammed Shami but after that,t David Warner and Steve Smith looked in very good nick and built a nice partnership. Warner was looking mighty dangerous and was going with a strike rate of 100. He scored fifty but after that, he miscued his slog sweep against Jadeja which resulted in a downfall and that was the end of the 94-run partnership.
Come Back from Shami
After that India came back in the game when Shami went through the defence of Steve Smith and reduced Australia to 112/3. Wickets continued to fall and the scoring rate was never too threatening. Mohammed Shami went through the Aussie batting lineup and got 5/51.
Australia got all out on 276 David Warner was the top scorer with 52 while Inglis scored run a ball 45 and Smith scored 41.
Chase from India
India openers came with all guns blazing and they were very aggressive in their approach. Shubman Gill was the chief destroyer and carried his form nicely and his partner Ruturaj Gaikwad played also really well. The opening partnership was 142 runs in just 21.4 overs.
Mini Collapse
Both openers were going so well and then Adam Zampa broke the partnership and then a mini-collapse came. It was fortunate for India that the collapse didn't go long. They were 181/4 suddenly but captain Rahul and Surya eased things a bit. They built match match-winning partnership of 80 runs and India won the match by 5 wickets.
Shubman Gill was the top scorer with 74 while Gaikwad, Rahul and Surya also scored fifties.
Mohammed Shami | Player of the Match
(On bowling longer spells in the heat) It depends on the captain and the game situation, but despite the heat, you feel like bowling 4-5 overs with the new ball. I enjoyed the wicket of Marsh, that's a different feeling when you get the outside edge when you control your swing nicely. It was important to hit the right lengths on this wicket, either at full pace or slow, but bowling the right lengths was key. (On bowling with the other pacers) We've played together for a long time, so we know what needs to be done. Always enjoy it when we bowl well in tandem like this.
